Poetry: Ants
Ants - Izzati Rafiee
This is a story of the little ants,the hardworking ants;
who kept getting stepped and stomped
while carrying crumbs weighing a ton
for the one queen
who's sitting on her throne;
side eyes with her both legs crossed,
waiting for the little, hardworking ants
to feed her a feast with a golden spoon
of the biggest crumbs out of almost none,
collected by those little, hardworking souls,
after a whole day of escaping deaths
while on their way limping to their nest
they saw the queen glaring without a soul
it's the owner of their nest,
that they were supposed
to call as home.

Poet's note:
Wrote this few months ago, kept it for few more. Lost the timing to post it
and rewrote it again for a class assignment. And at this moment, it just feels
right to post this now.
There's also an audio version I recorded for the assignment. I thought my
delivery is bad but still, you can listen to it here.
Take care, everyone.
After all, it's always us taking care of ourselves.
