Poetry: Aperture
Aperture - Izzati Rafiee
Her eyes peeked through
The small hole
On the camera
And saw the world that she viewed
As nothing but a dry, vast field
Was actually
A bed of purple iris
Blooming, basking
Under the ray
Of the yellow dwarf

Poet's note:
This poem was written around a month ago and I remember feeling not so well during those times. So during the period, every night instead of sleeping, I stared at the screen of my laptop, reflecting on whatever happening to me, while listening to sad ballads. Probably it's just sendu hours and existential crisis moments, but here's the product to those nights.
For this particular poem, I took the prompt from a Twitter account called @/prosewords that provides weekly prompts using random words or phrases, and the account actually helped a lot for me to write, especially when it's really hard for me to get an inspiration these days. So, for those who's in need of inspiration or interested in writing, click here to check them out!
The poet's note is getting longer than I expected so I guess, thank you? For loving the poems I wrote before. I would love to hear what you guys think about this one too.
